Early Life and Education
Thomas Benedict Stindle was born on February 14, 1939, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Benedict and Florence (nee Cieslewicz) Stindle. He spent his formative years in his hometown, attending St. Stanislaus Grade School and graduating from St. Catherine's High School in 1957.
Thomas continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1961 and a Master of Science degree in 1966, both in Education. He later pursued a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado, which he received in 1976.
Teaching Career and Educational Leadership
Thomas's passion for education was evident throughout his life. He began his teaching career at St. Sebastian's School in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and later became a professor of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he inspired generations of future educators.
In 1976, Thomas took on the role of Superintendent of Schools for the St. Francis Catholic School District in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served the district with distinction for 23 years, overseeing significant growth and innovation while maintaining a strong commitment to Catholic values.

Beyond his professional life, Thomas was actively involved in his community. He served as a member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and held numerous leadership positions, including President of the Wisconsin Catholic Educational Association and National Board Member of the NCEA.
Thomas also dedicated his time to the Racine Art Museum, serving on its Board of Trustees for many years. His unwavering support for the arts enriched the cultural life of the community.
Military Service and Patriotism
Thomas served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army Reserve from 1961 to 1967. He was a true patriot who believed deeply in the values of freedom and democracy.

Thomas's family was the cornerstone of his life. He married the love of his life, Janet Marie (nee Mills) Stindle, on August 19, 1961. Their marriage was a testament to love, mutual respect, and unwavering support.
Together, Thomas and Janet welcomed seven children into the world: Timothy (Sharon), Patrick (Karen), Daniel (Laura), Mary (Mark) Muetze, Ann (Michael) Best, Catherine (Mark) Maheu, and Matthew (Emily). Their family grew even larger with the addition of 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Thomas was a devoted husband and father. He cherished every moment with his family, creating countless memories filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He instilled in his children the importance of faith, hard work, and service to others.

Funeral Arrangements
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Thomas Benedict Stindle on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Richard's Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue, Racine, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Francis Catholic School District or to St. Richard's Catholic Church.
