Coronado Coloring Contest Celebrates the Island's Rich History and Vibrant Culture

The City of Coronado invites residents and visitors alike to participate in its annual Coloring Contest, a cherished tradition that brings the community together through artistic expression. This year's theme, "Celebrating Coronado's Unique Heritage," pays homage to the island's fascinating past and present.

Contest Details

The contest is open to all ages, fostering a sense of inclusivity and shared creativity. Participants can choose from two age categories:

  • Junior Category: 5-12 years old
  • Adult Category: 13 years old and up

Coloring Pages

To participate, download the printable coloring pages from the City of Coronado's website: https://www.coronado.ca.us/recreation/page/coronado-coloring-contest. The pages feature intricate illustrations depicting iconic landmarks, historical events, and the island's natural beauty.

Submission Deadline

Completed coloring pages must be submitted by Friday, March 3, 2023. Entries can be dropped off at the Coronado Public Library (1776 Strand Way) or mailed to:

Judging

A panel of experienced artists will judge the submissions based on creativity, artistic skill, and adherence to the contest theme. The top three finalists in each age category will receive special recognition.

Awards and Recognition

The winners will be announced on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Coronado Library. Prizes include:

  • First Place: Gift certificate to a local art supply store
  • Second Place: Coronado-themed gift basket
  • Third Place: Personalized art supplies

Community Display

All submitted coloring pages will be displayed at the Coronado Library from March 11-25, 2023. This provides an opportunity for the community to admire the artistic talents of their neighbors and celebrate the island's spirit.
